God in the center of our relationships

Being in a relationship can really be so overwhelming,If you’ve been “in love” I know you know what I’m saying.

Alexander Smith described it this way “Love is but the discovery of ourselves in others, and the delight in the recognition.”

Especially if it’s your first time to be “in-love” or to be in a relationship. I believe it’s beyond compare to crushes, infatuation, or as some other call it MU (mutual understanding).

Yes, It is so true being in-love can really be so overwhelming; some people would daydream of the person they love. You immediately miss each other the minute after seeing each other, I remember there was a time I couldn’t sleep thinking of her. we would always want to talk, see and be with each other most of the time. Words are overflowing that you tend to be romantic, cheesy and corny but you don’t care because you want to express how much you love the other person.

That’s why we need to be careful and mature enough to know how to handle our relationships. We need God’s help all the more because instead of enriching our lives it (this being in love mode) could start robbing us of our true identity.

The truth is, someone loves us more than our “lover” (boyfriend/girlfriend/fiance/spouse).

In one of the book I’ve read  Leo Buscaglia said “ Love is always bestowed as a gift – freely, willingly, and without expectation… We don’t love to be loved; we love to love.

I believe this is exactly how God loves us. He  already loved us even before we knew of Him. Hence, He must be our first love. our priority. We can never give Real love unless we’ve experienced it first. We won’t be able to give Real and unconditional love unless we’ve received it first ourselves. (Revelation 2:4)

No one should share His seat in our hearts.Don’t forget Him, fight for your time with Him. Out personal quiet time with Him. Oswald Chambers wrote “A private relationship of worshipping God is the greatest essential element of spiritual fitness.”

If we put Him first, He will give us the desires of our hearts (Matt 6:33). One common concern with couples is that they got so “in-love” with one another that they forgot who they really are. They are a child of this Great living and loving God.

Isolation could take place that they might miss the many opportunities to express God’s love to the people around them.

This is one message that I and Ayi have just learned which we want to share. Yes we have many activites, we have calendars synced, budgetting, planning, schedules prayer time, small groups and ministries but still lost the reason why we are doing all of these we could be trying to do many gimmicks but still miss the point.

Don’t miss the reason why we are doing the things we are doing. Never forsake your first love. Jesus.

More than just inviting, letting Him lead you once again, the center of your life and of your relationship, of everything you are doing and are about to do. I’m sure He will meet you just right where you need Him. He’s been waiting for you to spend time with Him again.

Our great and mighty king should be our first Love. I’m sure He misses you more than  you miss Him. So get your hands off this computer, off that phone, off that pen, invite Him to be with you today, let Him captivate you once again.
